SHEILA NOLAN
Sheila has a degree and post graduate qualifications in mathematics and science and worked as a teacher and head of department for nearly 30 years.
Sheila has been an inspector and consultant for the past ten years and has gained experience in many countries including the Caribbean and Singapore.
She is an additional Inspector with Her Majesty's Inspectors for Initial Teacher Training, with particular subject expertise in mathematics.
She is also an editor and member of writing team for recent major publication in England for the Key Stage 3 mathematics series.
She has extensive experience of working with HMI in schools causing concern as well as being a tutor and external assessor (mathematics) for the Graduate Teacher Programme in the UK.
Sheila has also been involved in adult education through the Open University and in a wide range of short projects such as studies involving disaffected students.
Besides her inspection work, she is currently involved with the DCSF in the specialist schools' programme and with Education London on improvement programmes for schools causing concern.
